[edit]

Just a quick note - this needs some editing to make it more layman accessible. As someone going into it with very little programming knowledge it's a bit too technical to really understand the basics. Also, this needs to be edited for tone since it's a little too casual. It's not promotional per se, but the article talks about this language's efficiency a bit much - likely a result of it being written a bit too casual, like someone discussing it at a discussion or something to that effect. @Tokyogirl79: Thank you very much, Tokyogirl79; please let me know if the page is better now regarding the content (the text was reworked for a more general audience) and also regarding external references Nichols david (talk) 14:34, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Changes

[edit]
  • "the article may be too technical for most readers to understand": The original article was heavily copied and pasted from older documentation; it's been edited with the goal of being more accessible to non-technical readers
  • "This article relies too much on references to primary sources": there are still a lot of references to the design, features, and implementation of the language from the language's documentation and web site itself, but also the page has been updated with references to large UNIX-like distributions that incorporate the language

I'm not sure if this is enough to remove the issues from the page and would appreciate the feedback of more experience wikipedia editors Nichols david (talk) 05:55, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
